ARTIST SPOTLIGHT | WEAVERS GUILD OF RHODE ISLAND
BIOGRAPHY
Pam Provost learned to weave at Rhode Island College, where she majored in weaving, primarily focusing on overshot techniques. She was a member of the Slater Mill Weavers for several years and is currently a member of the Weavers Guild of Rhode Island.
VISION
Pam Provost chose natural colors for her weavings that evoke the essence of the Newport area. Some of her yarns were dyed with natural materials, while she selected various textured yarns to capture the feeling of the region. Through her work, she created abstract representations of Newport’s landscape.
