MICHELE O’DONNELL
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT | HANDWEAVERS GUILD OF CONNECTICUT

BIOGRAPHY
Michele O’Donnell is a retired scientist who became intrigued by weaving after seeing a floor loom during her time at university. The mechanics, colors, and design of weaving left a lasting impression on her. Thirty years later, after taking weaving classes and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow weavers, she became involved with the Rhode Island Weaving Center as a studio weaver, board member, and mentor for new weavers.

VISION
Michele O’Donnell, who resides in Mystic, CT, enjoys walking her dog along the sandy shores of Watch Hill and Misquamicut in Rhode Island. The ripples of water on the white beach sand and the quiet serenity of the dunes during the off-season inspired her work.
