MARGIT WHITE
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT | WEAVERS GUILD OF BOSTON

BIOGRAPHY
Margit White’s introduction to textiles came through her mother, who knitted and crocheted an impressive amount of clothing throughout her lifetime. This early exposure sparked Margit’s love affair with textiles. She learned weaving at a three-year full-time weaving school in Sindelfingen, Germany, where she graduated as a Journeyman Handweaver in 1989. Over three decades later, her passion for textiles remains strong.

VISION
Margit White’s vision is to create textiles that enhance life by bringing joy and providing comfort. Her designs are inspired by the materials themselves as well as the ocean shorelines. The majority of the colors in her pieces are in their natural state, reflecting the hues of grassy sand dunes, rocky shorelines, and tidal pools.
