BIOGRAPHY
Leslie Mahler has been weaving for over 20 years. For most of that time, she worked on floor looms, creating a variety of items such as scarves, dishtowels, rugs, and wall hangings. Recently, her focus has shifted to learning tapestry weaving. She feels fortunate to be part of the Rhode Island Weaving Center, which has broadened her weaving horizons and allowed her to develop new skills.
VISION
Leslie Mahler’s piece features a woven base for structure, complemented by tapestry-like techniques that provide color and design. The inspiration for this work comes from the beautiful beaches and ocean views that are abundant in Rhode Island.
