BIOGRAPHY
Jami Star began weaving just a few years ago after attending an introductory class with her daughter, where she instantly fell in love with the craft. She believes the possibilities for self-expression are endless. Although weaving is not her day job—yet—she hopes it might become one upon her retirement. It has become her new happy place, and she strives to create pieces that not only bring her joy while she weaves but also delight others.
VISION
Jami Star designed these pieces with the stunning seaside of Rhode Island in mind—drawing inspiration from the sand, water, and sky. Acknowledging the ever-changing nature of this landscape, she chose a relatively abstract weaving structure. Jami hopes that the colors and textures of her work are both inspiring and soothing, much like the beautiful views found throughout Newport.
